I am very pleased/amused/satisfied with Jorge's observation:

Or the "other" is there only in one's imagination.

I had had doubts about "political", but this scheme of ours
(I have adopted it) helps to clarify the problem. In fact I
think this scheme helps to clarify the concepts being discussed.
Many of the connotations and denotations of the English word
"spiritual" are stripped away by narrowing the concept to fit
in this matrix.
Now, how do we narrow the myriad meanings of "political". One view
comes to mind because of Jorge's taxonomy: the column headings
change from self & others to a) the individual in isolation,
b) the individual in relation to others, and c) the collective.
Or is "political" meant as something other than describing the
actions of a society.
thank you all,
